I organize information, create access to knowledge, and support the communities that rely on it. This is what draws me to librarianship and the broader field of information services.

I am an emerging information professional pursuing my Master of Library and Information Science at the University of Washington, with a professional background in facilities and operations management at UCLA Extension. In my current role, I oversee academic learning environments that support hundreds of courses annually, ensuring that students, instructors, and staff have equitable access to functional and welcoming spaces. This experience has strengthened my commitment to public service, accessibility, and user-centered support. These are values that I would bring to libraries and information institutions. I am interested in public, government, and academic librarianship, particularly roles focused on community-centered information services and equitable access to information.

My academic work and professional projects have helped me build a foundation in digital humanities, data analysis, and information organization. I have evaluated digital collections projects such as Picturing Mexican America, focusing on usability, accessibility, and opportunities for expansion, and conducted a data analysis project examining Los Angeles police misconduct settlements using R. Through these experiences, I have developed skills in metadata creation, research support, structured data, and digital tools such as HTML and CSS, while also strengthening my understanding of ethical information practices and representation in collections and systems. My work is grounded in a belief that information professionals have a responsibility to make information more accessible, inclusive, and meaningful to the communities they serve.

As a Mexican American woman and first-generation college graduate, I bring a perspective shaped by navigating systems that are not always designed with every community in mind.
